Warner Bros. World Yas Island welcomes first riders to new DC thrill ride Kryptonite Collider
Lex Luthor has arrived in Metropolis, and he's recruiting volunteers for his latest experiment
ABU DHABI – Warner Bros. World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi has officially opened Kryptonite Collider, welcoming its first riders to the park's newest DC-themed attraction.
The immersive experience marks the first permanent ride to be added to the indoor theme park since it opened in 2018.
Guests are invited to step into the world of one of DC's most infamous Super-Villains, Lex Luthor, and become part of his latest experiment.
LexCorp lab
Located in the streets of Metropolis, Kryptonite Collider is a 32-seat centrifuge-style thrill ride designed to immerse visitors in The Everyman Project, Lex Luthor's fictional mission to unlock superhuman abilities in ordinary people and prove Superman is no longer unique.
The experience begins inside a detailed recreation of the LexCorp laboratory, where guests receive a briefing before volunteering to participate in Luthor's latest scheme. The experiment is powered by kryptonite, the rare mineral known throughout the DC universe as Superman's greatest weakness.
Once riders take their seats, the centrifuge springs into action, combining powerful motion, dynamic visuals, synchronised lighting effects and immersive onboard audio. The attraction simulates the sensation of gaining extraordinary powers as participants are swept through a high-energy sequence inspired by Luthor's experiment.
The adventure concludes with interactive digital displays that reveal each guest's newly acquired "superpowers", creating a personalised ending to the experience.
DC Super Hero Season
Hind Galadari, General Manager of Warner Bros. World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, described the attraction as a major milestone for the theme park.
She said Kryptonite Collider brings one of DC's most iconic Super-Villains to life by placing guests at the centre of the story, from entering the LexCorp headquarters to discovering their new powers at the end of the ride. She added that every aspect of the attraction was designed to deliver immersive storytelling and world-class entertainment while creating memorable experiences for visitors to Yas Island.
The opening of Kryptonite Collider coincides with the launch of DC Super Hero Season, which runs until 30 August. During the seasonal event, visitors can enjoy live entertainment, character encounters and interactive experiences as DC Heroes and Villains take over Warner Bros. World Yas Island throughout the summer.
World’s Best Theme Park
The launch also follows another significant achievement for the attraction. Earlier this year, Warner Bros. World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi was named the Best Theme Park in the World at the 2026 Liseberg Applause Award, becoming the first attraction in the Middle East to receive the industry's highest honour.
